Sir Francis Drake

England s Sir Francis Drake was one of the most famous ship captains in history. Many called him a pirate. But in his mind, he was an English patriot who opposed his country s biggest enemy—Spain. Drake fought many battles with the Spaniards. Eventually, an enormous fleet of warships known as the Spanish Armada tried to attack England. And Drake helped save the day.
