Our Story

Mitchell Lane Publishers was founded in 1992 by Barbara Mitchell, a former teacher and reading specialist. In January 2017, Mitchell Lane Publishers was purchased by Phil Comer and Associates. Mr. Comer has over 30 years of experience in the school and library industry as a former owner of a large book distributorship.

As a family-owned business, we are committed to continuing the high standards that have made Mitchell Lane a trusted name. Our books are carefully crafted by experienced youth fiction and nonfiction authors, editors and designers, ensuring they meet the needs of schools and libraries. Every Library Bound and Paperback edition is made in the USA, and each title is offered digitally as hosted eBooks or downloadable PDFs.
