Confucius

The name Confucius has come down to us today from the distant past. Although he lived thousands of years ago, in a place and time before any type of mass media and/or communications existed much beyond that of the spoken word, the wisdom of Confucius has survived over the centuries. His sayings and philosophy are still widely practiced today—a remarkable achievement for someone who exists primarily in the dusty pages of history books.

While we know much about the teachings of Confucius, we know little about him personally. Although the details of his life are sketchy at best, they are sometimes surprising, and often quite remarkable. To learn about Confucius himself and his amazing life can be just as rewarding and fulfilling as reading his philosophy.
